Group Therapy

One of the most powerful interventions when struggling with the changes of motherhood is validation. Group therapy provides a setting in which women can share their experiences, commiserate about common challenges, and learn strategies to attain confidence and coping abilities. Giving and receiving feedback can help to empower one another and give you the hope and courage to press on. At CFMMH, we offer two types of groups: one is focused on psychological techniques for prevention and treatment of perinatal depression and anxiety, and the other is a general support group for women spanning the third trimester of pregnancy through the first 2 years of their child’s life. If you are struggling with perinatal distress, or are feeling isolated and alone, connecting with others through group therapy can be a very valuable resource toward recovery.
