Clinical Experience
Dr. Montfort attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies and subsequently earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Graduate School of Applied & Professional Psychology at Rutgers University in 2014. She is licensed to practice psychology in the state of Florida (License#: PY4914) and certified in Perinatal Mental Health. She has always gravitated to working with women, and through working in a variety of settings, continued to find herself in women-centered environments. During her time as a psychologist within the Department of Veterans affairs, Dr. Montfort has worked within a residential women’s trauma unit, an outpatient Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Unit, a Substance Abuse Unit, and most recently a Women’s Health Center. One of the issues that has presented itself repeatedly is postpartum depression, which spurred a desire for her to learn more. After having children of her own, Dr. Montfort became acutely aware of the need for greater awareness and support around perinatal distress. She has devoted time to pursing a certification in Perinatal Mental Health and is dedicated to providing a space for those who are emotionally overloaded, those who don’t have a village, and those who are struggling to find the “me” in Mommy.
